I’d forgotten how much I love the sport of Triathlon.
This year was all about long runs through the desert and i’ve had little time to think about much else. With that challenge done and dusted, I agreed to help 32Gi Eastbourne Triathlon Race Director, Rich Campbell with the second running of what is shaping up to be a ‘must do’ UK race.
I really didn’t want to think about racing again but i’m starting to reconsider. Maybe it was the good weather, maybe it was the buzz around transition, i’m not sure. Even the 4am start didn’t seem that bad. Whatever that special thing is, this race has it.
The race went off smoothly and I enjoyed playing my small part in that. It wasn’t racing but I was close enough to the action to find myself warming up my shoulders for a swim start I wasn’t even taking part in.
This race punches above its weight and has that big event razzmatazz. If you are looking for a friendly, challenging, fun race for next year do this one.
